From Rusiñol to Camarasa and Miquel Barceló
What better way to discover a city and its past than through its artists? From its founding, the Fundación Barceló (Barceló Foundation) has prioritised the study, knowledge and diffusion of fine arts. Under this premise, its activity concentrated on looking back at the pictorial work of Mallorcan artists and residents of the island during the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
The result of which is a vast and valuable collection of paintings and work by the likes of Joan Bauzá, Antoni Ribas Oliver, R. Anckermann, Santiago Rusiñol, H. Anglada Camarasa, Francisco Maura, Francisco Bernareggi, Pilar Montaner, Sebastià Junyer, Tito Cittadini, J. A. Fuster Valiente, P. Roch Minué,Lluís Graner, W. Degouve de Nuncques, Joan Fuster, Joan Mestre Bosch, Juan O’Neille, Joaquim Mir, Ramón Nadal, Llorenç Cerdà, Josep Ventosa, Miquel Barceló and C. M. Tarrassó.
