Tourist routes for everyone

Experience Palma's cultural heritage on the route through Palma Alta - the upper old town of Palma. This route offers you the chance to explore the city's most significant historical and artistic treasures, as well as Palma's Jewish quarter.

Take a leisurely stroll through the shopping streets, past exclusive shops, and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere at cosy terrace cafés while sampling the local cuisine. Be captivated by the Modernisme architecture, as well as the charming historic streets. All of this and more awaits you on the route through Palma Baja - the lower old town of Palma.

Discover the oldest market hall in Palma, splendid Modernisme-style buildings, and diverse gastronomic and leisure offerings on the route through the Santa Catalina neighbourhood.

Would you like to visit the Fundación Miró, the Bellver Castle, the San Carlos Castle or the Marivent Palace Gardens? These sights are all accessible on the Cala Mayor route!

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can take a comfortable Tourist Bus that will take you along the red bus route.

Visitors can pick up the "Palma for Everyone" foldable city map at tourist information offices. This map contains detailed information about the above-mentioned tourist routes. Each individual route is accompanied by a QR code that provides access to a document with a detailed description of the route, as well as detailed information about the sights to be seen along the way (museums, monuments, and other tourist attractions). The map also includes information on the physical and sensory accessibility of each route. This way you can decide whether or not you want to visit a particular sight, or whether you would prefer to visit it in company.

You can also download the "Palma for Everyone" city map from the menu next to this text.

Barrier-free city maps with visual and haptic representation of content and information, and Map's Voice.

Discover the city's tourist routes with city maps that can be perceived visually and haptically while providing access to Map's Voice technology.

For each of the four routes - Palma Alta, Palma Baja, Santa Catalina, and Cala Major - a special city map has been developed that can be carried with you at all times, making it easy for people with different degrees of visual impairment to follow these routes.

These city maps contain visually perceptible information, which is also presented in a relief-like structure. In addition, the contents are printed in Braille, allowing for tactile perception. This allows information to be perceived both visually and tactually, promoting interaction. Besides, additional means of cognitive and auditory perception have also been used to facilitate understanding for all users. Thanks to these special elements of this barrier-free city map, foreigners, elderly people, and children can become familiar with it.

With Map's Voice technology, you can be guided along the four routes - Palma Alta, Palma Baja, Santa Catalina, and Cala Major - and learn interesting facts about each sight in high-contrast text or audio format in Catalan, Spanish, English, and German. Click on this link to access the platform and view all the interesting features of this city map.

To obtain a visually and haptically perceptible city map, simply visit a tourist office in Palma and request one.
